STEPS:

1. First, simply try restarting your computer to see if that fixes the problem.

2. If you continue receiving the error, see if there are any corrupt system files using scannow sfc. To do this simply go to the Run box on the Start Menu and type in:

sfc /scannow

Scannow will indicate: Please wait while Windows verifies that all protected Windows files are intact and in their original versions.

This command will initiate the Windows File Protection service to scan all protected files and verify their integrity, replacing any files that it finds a problem with. If the Dllcache folder that stores original files, or its contents are corrupted, then you will be prompted for the Windows CD. If the Windows CD does not have Windows SP2 installed on it, you will need to get a slipstreamed disc that includes Windows SP2. Put the disc and exit from the setup program. Press Start>Run. Type cmd and press OK. At the DOS prompt, type sfc /scannow and press return. You may be prompted to insert your disc several times. Press retry to continue the process. Reboot when the blue progress bar finishes. You may need your Windows product key to complete this .
