Some Good to Know Tips for Treating Blisters
Causes of Blisters
Blisters usually develop from friction (a rubbing motion on the skin) or from a burn. They are most commonly found on the hands or feet.
Treat Common Blisters
To treat a blister it's recommended that you do not puncture it. The fluid will be reabsorbed by the body and may help to protect the skin beneath. Simply cover the blister so that there will be no friction or further injury by applying a sterile gauze pad after thoroughly cleaning it with soap, water, and antiseptic if available. In the event the blister breaks do not peel away the skin. Immediately clean with antiseptic soap and apply another sterile gauze. Consult a doctor if the blister appears infected or doesn't heal after treatment.
