How to Delete Temporary Internet Files in Internet Explorer (IE)




Delete temporary files using Internet Explorer's (IE) "Delete Temporary Files" option.

Temporary Internet files are stored on your computer to help you browse websites faster. For example, images are downloaded and stored on your computer so that everytime you visit a website your computer doesn't need to continuously download the files.

Follow these steps to Delete Temporary Internet Files:

1. Close out all open browsers.

2. Open a new instance of Internet Explorer

3. From Internet Explorer's top menu click the "Tools" button and choose "Internet Options" or the "Delete Browsing History" option.

4. Once you open the Internet options window, click on the "Delete" button. This will open the Delete Browsing History
window.

5. Within the Delete Browsing History window, on the Temporary Internet Files section, click on "Delete Files". It will ask you, "Are you sure you want to delete all Temporary Internet Explorer files ?" -- Click "Yes" to proceed.
