How to Save and Export Internet Explorer Favorites
Question: "How do I transfer (export) my IE Favorites from one computer to another ? I want to be able to save my favorites from my old computer in the new computer I just bought."
Steps for exporting Internet Explorer favorites from one computer to another is listed below. Through this process Internet Explorer saves your favorites as a web page
.html document that is easily exported to another computer.
STEPS
1. Open Internet Explorer (IE) on the original computer that has the favorites you want to transfer to another computer. From the top of the IE menu, choose
File >>
Import and Export to bring up the
Import/Export Wizard. Choose
Next from the Import/Expor tWizard window that appears.

2. Next select/highlight
Export Favorites and click
Next.

5. Choose where you want favorites
exported to by using
Browse to locate a folder location to save your favorites to. Click
Next once you have selected a location.
TIP: make a mental note where you saved this file!

OK. At this point you should have successfully completed the IE favorites export process. Locate the favorites file that you saved. For reference, you can open this file since it's a simple .html file like a web page just in case you want to view it. You can then use a storage device such as a floppy or memory stick to save and then transfer / save this file to another computer. Once the file is saved on another computer, use the IE Import/Export Wizard once again and using the same basic steps. This time in Step #2, you will select
Import Favorites to complete the process.
Example 7 - Click Finish and OK to complete the IE favorites export process.
