How to Edit Registry in Microsoft Windows 7 (32bit, 64bit), Windows Vista SP1+ (32bit, 64bit), Windows XP SP2+ (32bit)
To edit the Windows registry you need to run regedit. Simply click on the Start Button > Run. Then type regedit and click Okay. Once this is complete RegEdit should open. Regedit is a program used to edit the Registry in Windows XP.

If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft does not guarantee that problems that you cause by using Registry Editor incorrectly can be resolved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. You can back up the registry by using a program such as Backup. After you make changes to the registry, create an Automated System Recovery (ASR) disk. For troubleshooting purposes, keep a list of the changes you make to the registry.
