How To Convert GIF, PNG, JPG to Different Image Formats for Free
You can easily convert images to different formats using Microsoft Paint
Steps are explained below to Convert images for free using Microsoft Paint included with Windows XP
1. Make a backup copy of he file you want to convert and keep it in a safe place.
2. On Windows choose Start >> Programs >> Accessories and click on Microsoft Paint.
3. Once Microsoft Paint is open, from the top menu choose File >> Open and browse to your image you would like to convert to a different format.
4. Once your file is displaying inside Microsoft Paint, choose File >> Save As. This will open up options for you to choose various file formats such as BMP, GIF, JPG, PNG, or TIFF. Choose a file format and location on your computer where you want to save your converted image. In the case of the exampel shown below, I already had a GIF image saved but now I want to convert the image to JPG.
5. Click on Save and you are done. Repeat the process for other images you want to convert or for different formats.
