Find the area of a rectangle

The area of a rectangle can be determined by multiplying the width times the height.

W x H = AREA (The area is always shown in SQUARE UNITS)

Example 1

If a rectangle has a base (or width) 10 inches and a height of 6 inches, its area is 10 x 6 = 60 square inches.

See example 2 of finding a measured kitchen area on a floor plan ------->

1. Find the measurement of the width of the rectangle (13' or 13 feet).

2. Find the height of the rectangle (18' or 18 feet).

3. To find the area of a rectangle multiply the base times the height.

13' x 18' = 234 Square Feet or 234 Sq. Ft.
